October Counterfeit Kit

Good morning. I'm popping in today to share my homemade kit for Counterfeit Kit Challenge. Gorgeous colours in this months kit and already making good use of it.
I actually chose a few papers this time...
And then added my embellies...

The brown flowers and ephemera I found just loose in this drawer during a recent clean up and they were perfect for adding to my kit with the added bonus of not having to find them a new home hehe...
This is the link and original kit...

All those beautiful blues and browns are going to be perfect for some recent beach photos taken so I am hopeful of making a good dent in my kit this month. And on that note I am off.
Have a great day & thanks for looking..Jx

CKC Sept #2 challenge

This one I actually finished last week and was a gift but am finally getting around to sharing it now. We have had an exchange student staying with us for the last 3 months and I wanted to make a memory for her to take home. The CKC challenge was the perfect inspiration I needed....
Despite it being winter weather and not a lot of spare time, we did manage to visit a few different places and this was taken on one of our weekends away. We were very lucky to have such a beautiful girl become a part of our family and I loved putting this together for her.
This picture is really not doing justice to the colours although they were rather rustic but I am struggling with my current photo program. I have tried a couple since updating my computer but haven't found anything I like as much as my old program which is now longer available. If anyone has any suggestions for a good one I would love to hear from you.

Have a great day and thanks for looking..Jx

D-Lish September challenge

Happy Saturday eveyone.  I have just squeezed this one in with a couple of hours to spare!  Had a couple of false starts but happy with the end result now :D
This is the link to D-Lish and the mood board...

I took my inspiration from the running paint and the butterfly image. I'm off now to have a really good clean up of my scrap space ready for the new month.
Have a great day and thanks for looking..Jx

Let's Get Sketchy Sept challenge - She completes me

Wow, it is the most beautiful spring day here today. Don't you just love when the days get longer and brighter? :D
Today I am sharing my lo for the Let's Get Sketchy challenge. My daughter is a bit of a selfie addict and I am trying to get out from behind the camera a bit more. It is such an effort to like having my photo taken as I really am not very photogenic but she is very encouraging so this is a photo of the two of us together.
Here is the sketch and link...

I was also happy to use papers from my CKC kit which matched her swim suit perfectly, bonus!

Well I'm off to enjoy some more of this glorious sunshine. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for popping by..Jx

Kraft+ September challenge

My goodness, I said I would be back with a challenge and I actually have :D
Todays share is for Kraft+. I have completed at least 3 Kraft+ challenges lately and haven't managed to post a single one of them so finally I have and not even close to the end of the month either hehe. I recently came into possession of this photo of my Mum as a child in marching girls (she is the one on the end) and when I saw this challenge it was the first photo I thought of. They reminded me of little worker bees all in a row in their yellow and black...
This is the challenge....

I used papers from my CKC kit for the hexagons and although I was a bit unsure at times I am pretty pleased with the final result.

Hope you are having a wonderful day and thanks for popping by..Jx

Counterfeit Kit Sept

Hello fellow scrappy peeps,
My blogging seems to be more miss than hit these days and although I faithfully put my CKC kit together each month and even use it I seem to miss all the cut offs for challenges so never bother to post anything. So this month I am making a concerted effort to spend a little bit of time in blog world. And considering what I am about to say it may come as a surprise that I still decided to start with a Counterfeit Kit....there was nothing that really grabbed me about this months kit! There I said it :( However, not to be deterred I decided to think outside the box a bit, after all isn't that what CKC is all about and remembered that I had quite a few kits way in the back of my paper stash box from years ago when I used to do subscriptions. So instead of making up my own new kit I decided to pull out these subscription kits..
If you look too closely you will even see that one of them is from September 2011 and one from November 2010 !!!
I found 2 that had similarities to the Sept kit. Some earthy tones, woodgrain and circles. And one of them had an alpha sheet called back country. So because the original is called "Lost River" in sticking with the whole country/earthy theme I have named my kit "Back Country"
And here they are...

This is the original kit chosen from CKC...

I have even managed to make a start and have completed 2 lo's so will be back very soon to share.

Hope you are having a wonderful day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Thanks for popping by..Jx

CKC July kit

I have been away from my poor little blog for quite some time now. After we moved I thought I had my craft room all set up nicely and the best intentions for the new year. But as is often the case, we were still unpacking, I had WAY too much stuff and everything got bogged down and messy!!
So take 2 and I have had a massive clean out (still have way too much haha), my desk is clean again and my mojo is returning. Funny how that happens when you have a clear space to work.
I decided to start with making up this months CKC kit as I absolutely adore the colours in it and what better way to get motivated than with something you love. This has got to be the smallest CKC kit I have ever put together but I have come to the conclusion that I really don't use a lot of paper in my scrapbooking so why put a lot in my kit.
So here it is...

This is the original kit...
Walden-Pond
I have taken a few of the papers, the alphas and the clear words for which I had some pink ghost letters from a very long time ago and never opened! Also added in some background stamps and that is it. So now I better go and create something:D

Hope you are having a wonderful day ..Jx

May challenge - Show Us Your Stuff

Hi there. Today I am sharing a lo I created for the May challenge at SUYS. At Christmas time we moved back to the city after 8 years away and last month I got to have a big girls sleepover and catch up with my dear friends from our old town. As you can probably tell, none of us are selfie people! :D But boy did we have some laughs

When I saw this challenge I knew I wanted to do something about these dear friends and the great night we had because I think friendship is so important to happiness (and also because one of us is now taking the fight to cancer.)
This is the mood board that inspired me and the link to Show Us Your Stuff...
Image may contain: 1 person, text

I hope that when we are older, the four of us will still be like that beautiful lady on the bike, just in convoy! :D haha
Thanks so much for popping by and have a wonderful day..Jx

May challenge @ Scrapbook Boutique

So a couple of months back I got my lovely little parcel of goodness in the mail from D-Lish. And what a gorgeous little package of pink goodness it was! Only problem is that I have been so wrapped up in my crocheting of late that I never got around to using it :(
Enter this months challenge from Scrapbook Boutique and I knew immediately what to do :)
Out it came and this is the result...

Perfect for this mood board...

Insta girl - Stick it Down challenge

My poor little blog has been sadly neglected of late but that doesn't mean I haven't been scrapping away happily in my little crafty space. Actually, although I have been scrapping and card making, I have also been spending most of my spare time on my latest obsession...crocheting :) So much so that even though I have completed a number of lo's I haven't been getting them up here and into their respective challenges! Oops :(
So I decided it was time that I found my way back and was going to start with a Counterfeit Kit when I came across the challenge at Stick it Down, through Juleen's blog. What a great sketch!
So here is my take. I flipped it but otherwise stayed pretty close...
Here is the link and the sketch...
April single page sketch

It is school holidays here atm so pretty relaxed at home. Heres hoping I may squeeze in another one or two, sooner rather than later.
Thanks for popping by and have a great day..Jx

D-Lish Feb challenge

Well, I haven't managed a single post this month, until now but I have been scrapping away merrily. I have also been a little preoccupied with crocheting lately. Funnily enough in the same colours as this months D-Lish challenge. Very citrussy (is that a word haha) an didn't want to miss the cut off...
This is a photo of me when I was about 4 I think. My parents went to Singapore for a holiday and brought me back this dress which I LOVED and wore all the time. I called it "my jingipore dress"
Here is the mood board and link...

I wonder if I can squeeze in one more challenge before tonight?
Thanks for popping by & I hope your day is as bright and happy as this challenge ..Jx

A forgery in action...

Well after a couple of days away I finished this layout last night using my little CKC forgeries
Pretty happy with the way it turned out although it still needs a title - I can't find any alphas in my stash that I am happy with! LOL - and maybe a little story line. But can't decide just yet so decided to share it as it is.
Hope you are having a wonderful day and thanks for popping by to share a little bit of my world..Jx

CKC forgeries on the fourth

Just a quick share while I am waiting for the paste to dry on my next lo. When I saw this months CKC kit the first thing that struck me was the gorgeous colours and how much I loved it. The second was how easy it was going to be to forge those cute little banners

So I got my papers, some little stamps and wordfetti along with my punch and this is the result...

I also made this one and got so excited I used it straight away with a little frame around the word...

The top ones are going on said lo waiting for paste to dry so will be back soon to share the final result.
Hope you are having a wonderful day and thanks for popping by..Jx
