CKC Sept #2 challenge

This one I actually finished last week and was a gift but am finally getting around to sharing it now. We have had an exchange student staying with us for the last 3 months and I wanted to make a memory for her to take home. The CKC challenge was the perfect inspiration I needed....
Despite it being winter weather and not a lot of spare time, we did manage to visit a few different places and this was taken on one of our weekends away. We were very lucky to have such a beautiful girl become a part of our family and I loved putting this together for her.
This picture is really not doing justice to the colours although they were rather rustic but I am struggling with my current photo program. I have tried a couple since updating my computer but haven't found anything I like as much as my old program which is now longer available. If anyone has any suggestions for a good one I would love to hear from you.

Have a great day and thanks for looking..Jx

D-Lish September challenge

Happy Saturday eveyone.  I have just squeezed this one in with a couple of hours to spare!  Had a couple of false starts but happy with the end result now :D
This is the link to D-Lish and the mood board...

I took my inspiration from the running paint and the butterfly image. I'm off now to have a really good clean up of my scrap space ready for the new month.
Have a great day and thanks for looking..Jx

Let's Get Sketchy Sept challenge - She completes me

Wow, it is the most beautiful spring day here today. Don't you just love when the days get longer and brighter? :D
Today I am sharing my lo for the Let's Get Sketchy challenge. My daughter is a bit of a selfie addict and I am trying to get out from behind the camera a bit more. It is such an effort to like having my photo taken as I really am not very photogenic but she is very encouraging so this is a photo of the two of us together.
Here is the sketch and link...

I was also happy to use papers from my CKC kit which matched her swim suit perfectly, bonus!

Well I'm off to enjoy some more of this glorious sunshine. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for popping by..Jx

Kraft+ September challenge

My goodness, I said I would be back with a challenge and I actually have :D
Todays share is for Kraft+. I have completed at least 3 Kraft+ challenges lately and haven't managed to post a single one of them so finally I have and not even close to the end of the month either hehe. I recently came into possession of this photo of my Mum as a child in marching girls (she is the one on the end) and when I saw this challenge it was the first photo I thought of. They reminded me of little worker bees all in a row in their yellow and black...
This is the challenge....

I used papers from my CKC kit for the hexagons and although I was a bit unsure at times I am pretty pleased with the final result.

Hope you are having a wonderful day and thanks for popping by..Jx

Counterfeit Kit Sept

Hello fellow scrappy peeps,
My blogging seems to be more miss than hit these days and although I faithfully put my CKC kit together each month and even use it I seem to miss all the cut offs for challenges so never bother to post anything. So this month I am making a concerted effort to spend a little bit of time in blog world. And considering what I am about to say it may come as a surprise that I still decided to start with a Counterfeit Kit....there was nothing that really grabbed me about this months kit! There I said it :( However, not to be deterred I decided to think outside the box a bit, after all isn't that what CKC is all about and remembered that I had quite a few kits way in the back of my paper stash box from years ago when I used to do subscriptions. So instead of making up my own new kit I decided to pull out these subscription kits..
If you look too closely you will even see that one of them is from September 2011 and one from November 2010 !!!
I found 2 that had similarities to the Sept kit. Some earthy tones, woodgrain and circles. And one of them had an alpha sheet called back country. So because the original is called "Lost River" in sticking with the whole country/earthy theme I have named my kit "Back Country"
And here they are...

This is the original kit chosen from CKC...

I have even managed to make a start and have completed 2 lo's so will be back very soon to share.

Hope you are having a wonderful day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Thanks for popping by..Jx
