The Great Master Forger search...

If you are reading this, I suggest you go make yourself a cuppa before you go any further because this post is going to be epic!

Back now? Ok, here goes....
Counterfeit Kit Challenge are looking for some new Master Forgers & I decided to throw my hat in the ring. First step was to answer a fun quiz and then you received a list of what to include in your kit, based on you answers. My kit included papers inspired by the Basic Grey collection Second City
SecondCity_BlogReveal-6
This is what I came up with...
Some spots, some graphic prints and gorgeous colours.
Next up was stamps, washi tape, wood & brads...
Followed by some stamped embellishments & some pocket page cards. I figured I would just use my stamps as I went along for embellishing and I found some PL cards from who know how long ago! Also in the Second City collection I noticed some vellum feathers, triangles & arrows that I wanted to forge so I threw in some dies & stencils to help me along. And of course what kit is complete without alphas and some pretties. The little bottle tops I made using washi tape and glossy accents...
Next up was some forging. The first thing I wanted to forge was the vellum feathers. This is what I came up with.
Step 1. Die cut some vellum & some of my papers
Step 2. Lay the vellum feather over the patterned paper feather
Step 3. Sew them together
And voila, forged feathers...
My next forgery involved making my own PL cards as the ones in my kit just weren't doing it for me. I used this Heidi Swapp image as my inspo

Image result for heidi swapp project life cards
and came up with this. I cut my cardstock to 3" x 4" and watercoloured it with some gorgeous shimmery watercolour paints I picked up at Spotlight for $3. Bargain :D
Then I used my alpha dies to cut out the word happy
Step 2 was to stamp birthday underneath.

*Quick tip - cover the part of the stamp you don't want to use with washi before inking up, then remove the washi tape before stamping

Some more stamping on my base card for good measure...
And then put it all together...
This is my finished card with the items I used from my kit...
And here is a second card I made by making a stencil with my die cut, then sponging, stamping & put it all together...

Still with me? Told you it was going to be a biggie :)

Righto, on to some scrapping.
I have never got into the whole Project Life thing so my challenge to myself was to make a standard 12x12 lo using a PL format.
Oh, did I mention that the reason my blogging has been a bit scarce, & the reason why I am only just completing this with only a day to go is that we have been preparing for & welcoming a new member to our family?  Please meet Cleo...
And what better subject to use for my challenge? So here is Cleo's inaugural scrapbook lo in a PL format along with the items I used from my kit...
 And a close up...
Now, just in case you haven't had enough yet here are a couple of extra cards & another lo from my kit. (Note the washi & the matching washi tape bottle top? Bet you thought I had forgotten. And the little tag at the top is a previously forged item as well)
And that canvas in the background? Yep, made that too ;)

I hope I didn't lose you along the way, I did warn you!
Thanks so much CKC for the opportunity to apply & hope you have enjoyed my "little" offering ;D

Have a great day..Jx

2 Crazy Boys for the D-Lish July challenge

Hello again.
I am back today with my share for the D-Lish July challenge. This months kit was one for the boys so I decided to take full advantage & scrap my boy with his bestie. These 2 have been friends since their first day of school and even though we have moved away, whenever we catch up it's as though they haven't been apart, which I just love.

Here is the mood board and link...

These kits are just so much fun & even though I set myself a challenge to use as much of the kit as possible in this lo, I still have sooo much leftover!
Well, back to enjoying the holidays.
Hope you are having a lovely day & thanks for looking..Jx

I am the mother of a 14yo - aarrgghh!

When did that happen? My beautiful boy turned 14 the other week and while I am not usually so quick in scrapping current photos, when I saw the challenge over at Scrapbook Boutique, they were just perfect. Having said that I got a bit worried when I did the blog hop of the DT as I think the image looks black and all the girls had seen it as blue until I got to the very last one :D
So here it is...
Enter Our Challenge - starts 10th each month See, it's black ;)
And here is my entry...
Hope you are having a lovely day & thanks for looking..Jx

A forgery in action

Back again. This month as CKC there was a bit of an extra challenge to use your forgery in a project. I was really pleased with my little kraft tags I made & decided to make a birthday card for a dear friend. There was a flower still on my desk that I had sprayed & misted but was leftover from a previous project & as I was starting to put it all together I noticed some packaging that I quickly decided would make the perfect background...
After that it came together in minutes. What I would prefer to call a "less is more" kinda card :D

Righto, now onto my sailors knot (I had planned to add this to my last lo but forgot to put it on! haha)
Have a great day & thanks for popping by..Jx

James - D-Lish June challenge

Wow! Amanda has done it again over at D-Lish. I don't buy a lot of  scrapbooking stuff atm as my room is stuffed to overflowing & I am trying REEAALLLY hard to use what I have but every month (when I am quick enough, as they sell out fast!) the D-Lish JAP kit is my little splurge. They are just such brilliant value! And every month I think it can't get any better and it just does :D
I have already finished 2 lo's using my kit and a third is forming quite quickly in my mind. This one is for their challenge...
This is a photo of my grandfather as a boy and I thought the colours were perfect for a more masculine lo and I could still use the flowers. I also used up some more of the Basic Grey papers on my desk. (You can't really see it in my photo but there is also some grey stamping in the background) Personally, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.
Anyhoo, thanks for looking & have a great day..Jx

Nothing but BG!

Well, not only did I use up some of my old Basic Grey stash of pp's thanks to CKC, but I didn't use any other papers to boot! So here it is....
These two are 14 & 10 now and I love scrapping these old photos and looking at how darn cute they were. Unfortunately a whole lot of my early photos are snapped on one of the most hideous couches in the history of couches LOL! A relic from my husbands single days that I didn't get rid of soon enough :D No matter how much I crop it still seems to be there. Oh well, what can you do? Just have to concentrate on those adorable little faces.
Hope you are having a terrific day wherever you are & whatever you are doing. Thanks for popping by..Jx

Stuck?! - June 1st challenge

Back again. This time with my share for the Stuck?! challenge. I have always loved this photo of my 2 on my sons first day of school.
And after a fair bit of misting, spraying & pearly paint I was pretty happy with this little flower cluster as well (they were originally white)
Here is the link & sketch

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend & thanks for popping by..Jx
